Parks & Community Facilities as a department, is committed to making great places Aucklander’s love. We look after Auckland’s parks and open spaces (regional and local parks, reserves, beaches, sports fields, civic spaces), alongside our varied portfolio of community buildings (libraries, leisure centres, pools, community centres, art centres, halls).



An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Specialist Operations unit for a Parks & Places Specialist, where you’ll work with a team and with a portfolio of Local Board’s on strategic and operational planning matters and on the scoping of new open space development projects across our diverse parks network.



As a collaborative, strategically minded individual, you’ll help set service level provision for many of the shared spaces and parks enjoyed by communities of Tāmaki Makaurau.



Day to day, you can expect to:


  • Define and develop park services
  • Review project proposals
  • Develop strategic assessments to inform park developments
  • Provide professional and technical advice
  • Support the development of local board work programmes

He kōrero mōu: About you

With solid experience in an advisory or specialist role in the Parks or Recreation area, you’ll bring with you:


  • Experience delivering open space development outcomes
  • Experience in designing or leading programmes that have an impact on communities
  • Confident communication skills
  • Confidence in report writing and presenting

You will also be required to have a full/clean NZ driver’s license.
