The Youth Education Programs Coordinator will be part of a team that oversees the Guide to High School program, which supports Grade 7 students as they transition from elementary to high school. The coordinator will support the program by working with community partners to engage and support program volunteers, recruit program participants, facilitate and deliver the program, and coordinate the delivery of programs within schools. The coordinator will be expected to ensure the overall success of the programs at the school sites they are responsible for.
What you’ll be doing:

Coordinate the delivery of programs within schools, including program promotion and participant recruitment
Facilitate the Guide to High School program as needed
Support program volunteers through recruitment, screening, database management, coaching, training, and appreciation
Provide feedback on the program curriculum and marketing materials
Assist in the preparation and delivery of the volunteer training program
Support the evaluation of the youth programs by conducting debrief sessions and focus groups, as well as collecting, collating and analyzing post-program surveys
Office adminstrationincluding preparation of program materials for training and workshops, data management, communication tracking, participant registration and application processing
Travel throughout Surrey and Vancouver is required
Other duties as required
What you’ll need:
University degree or equivalent and/or transferable experience in social work, youth work, psychology, education or relevant field
Knowledge of the theory, principles and practices in the areas of mentoring, education, youth development
Knowledge of and experience with the YWCA’s Youth Education Programs is an asset
Strong commitment to work in gender inclusion, anti-racism, and Truth and Reconciliation
Experience working with and facilitating groups of youth and volunteers
Experience in community program settings such as schools or community centres
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Organized, self-driven, ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities and strong leadership skills
Strong office and administration skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook
Valid BC driver’s license, clean driving record and comfort driving between Vancouver and Surrey is required; having access to a vehicle is an asset, but not required as we use car share.
Able to work a flexible schedule when needed
A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.
The YWCA Metro Vancouver’s COVID-19 vaccination policy is currently suspended and as a result, vaccination from COVID-19 is not required at this time.
