These factors make it an exciting and fulfilling career choice for IT professionals looking to contribute their skills to an organisation that makes a significant difference to the Motu.The Data Integration Specialist is responsible for deploying, supporting, and maintaining application and data integration layers across Fire and Emergency NZ.The role optimises and drives activities to maintain organisational systems integration and build capabilities including automation. This will include managing the gathering of requirements and working with solution architects to designing complex business application, data integration solutions and securing application programme interfaces (API's) in a cloud computing environment e.g., Azure.Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you'll bring to the role: To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to maintain on-premises support but with a strong desire to develop their Cloud support skills and knowledge through mentoring, training, and hands on implementation of Cloud migration strategies.To be successful in this role, we'd expect you will have: Essential Skills:

  • 2 - 3 years' DBA experience
  • Experience providing support of SQL Server and services including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Reporting Services, SQL cloud services and SQL Server Analysis Services and processes such as Extract Transform Load (ETL) Change Data Capture (CDC).
  • Proven data analysis, data integration and development skills using Microsoft technologies.
  • Integration skills for API development and support for Azure components such as APIM, ADF, Function Apps and Logic Apps.
  • A willingness and ability to develop and learn quickly as we modernise and move our systems into the cloud, including supporting Azure SQL Server and Azure Managed Instances as well as Azure Virtual Machines.
Desirable Skills:
  • Strong experience in designing, building, supporting, and maintaining system integration layers and applications in complex technical environments. Highly developed skills and knowledge in integration with multiple systems and applications. Sound experience of various protocols/methods of communication e.g., Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Representational State Transfer (REST).
  • Good experience with Cloud computing technologies. Azure SQL, Azure Integration services, Data Factory and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience in Development and Languages: .NET (C# & VB), Transact-SQL, JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), XML, JavaScript, PowerShell, HTML.
  • Experience with Source Code Management software e.g., Azure DevOps Server, GitHub.

The salary range for this role is $100,736 – $111,929 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.Ko wai mātou - who are we?
