We at Clevry are looking for a Mineralogist for our client Metso. The position is full-time (37,5h/week) and permanent and located in Pori. The starting date for this position is in August/September 2023. You will be employed via Clevry to Metso.

As a Mineralogist you will be responsible for research, development, customer test work and innovation projects in the field of mineralogy and minerals processing. In this role you will perform mineralogical research with an emphasis on process mineralogy. Daily tasks include e.g., conducting required data handling and reporting, writing up instructions and procedures for research and laboratory test work, managing projects of various sizes and scopes relating to R&D and customer projects. You will work closely with metallurgists and the Experimental Research teams.

Main tasks

  • Conduct detailed mineralogical research, analysis and identification of minerals, with an emphasis on process mineralogy
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to clients
  • Manage, contribute, and execute customer related test work projects
  • Write up instructions and procedures for research and laboratory test work
  • Understand the business needs from market areas and make sure they are coordinated closely with technology and innovation, together with the business lines

We expect

  • M.Sc. degree in Mineralogy, Geology or a related field
  • Knowledge of process mineralogy, mineral properties, crystallography, and mineral chemistry
  • Proficiency in using mineralogical analysis techniques and analytical research
  • Knowledge of analytical laboratory research methods. You are familiar with various mineralogical research equipment (SEM, MLA, XRD microscopy, etc.)
  • Excellent data analysis and interpretation skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Fluent spoken and written English, other languages are an advantage
