Learning Support Assistant

At The British International School Budapest, our staff are well-qualified, confident, organised, have a good sense of humour and participate fully in all aspects of school life within and beyond the classroom. We are now looking for a like-minded Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team from August 2023.


Learning Support Assistants work alongside the class teachers to support children in the delivery of our high standard of educational excellence. The role requires Learning Support Assistants to be integral in children’s learning through discussions and observations with the class teacher but also through planning and delivering lessons that provide ambitious learning outcomes for all.


Our Primary School takes children at age 3 from a range of international backgrounds. Learning Support Assistants work in any area of the primary school supporting children from age 3 to 11. Whilst we require flexibility to work within the full primary range, we are currently seeking Learning Support Assistants who have a passion for working with children aged between 3 and 7 years old.


The British International School, Budapest is an English speaking and the successful candidate is required to have a high level of spoken and written English.


The ideal candidate should:

  • be able to work collaboratively with a range of staff, parents and students.
  • be highly motivated individual, with the ability to inspire and engage students of a wide range of backgrounds and cultures;
  • be highly ICT literate;
  • be experienced in teaching students for whom English is an additional language;
  • be able to offer one or more extra-curricular activities;
  • be experienced in supporting students learning, preferably in line with the National Curriculum for England.
